Family Literacy Commitment Policy
Purpose
Safe Childcare Partnerships believes that literacy is one of the strongest predictors of future academic success. As part of our mission to support children and families, scholarship recipients are expected to participate in activities that promote early language and literacy development.

Read to or with their child for a minimum of 15 minutes each day.
Maintain age-appropriate books or reading materials in the home whenever possible.
Participate in literacy-focused activities, challenges, or events sponsored by Safe Childcare Partnerships when available.
Encourage conversations, storytelling, singing, and other language-rich interactions that support literacy development.
Notify the organization if they need assistance accessing books or literacy resources.
Support Provided
Safe Childcare Partnerships may provide:
Books for children and families
Literacy resource guides
Family reading challenges
Referrals to community literacy programs and libraries
Acknowledgment
By accepting scholarship assistance, families acknowledge that they have read and understand this policy and agree to make a good-faith effort to support their child's literacy development through daily reading and language-rich interactions.
"Scholarship assistance is more than financial support. It is a partnership between Safe Childcare Partnerships and families to ensure children have the opportunities, experiences, and relationships they need to thrive. Daily reading is one of the simplest and most powerful ways families can support their child's future success."
