Some things to expect your child’s first week

Meeting New People

They’ll meet their teachers and lots of new children. It may take a few days to learn names and feel comfortable, and that’s completely normal.

Lots of Play and Activities

Expect hands-on fun like art projects, story time, music, building blocks, pretend play, and outdoor play. These activities help children learn and make friends.

Learning a New Routine

Daycare typically follows a daily schedule (circle time, playtime, snacks, naps, outdoor time). It might feel different from home, but children usually adjust quickly once they understand what comes next.

Big Feelings (and Reassurance!)

It’s common for children to feel shy, excited, nervous, or even sad at drop-off. Teachers are used to helping children through these feelings and will provide comfort and encouragement.

How to Enroll My Child

Wooden alphabet letters on a tray, play dough containers, and a children's drawing on a table, with a pink chair and books in the background.
A young girl with black hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a peach-colored shirt, is sitting at a desk focused on writing or drawing. The desk is cluttered with papers, books, and colorful storage containers. Behind her, there is a wall decorated with stickers of cartoon characters.
A woman and four children sitting around a yellow table, engaged in arts and crafts. The children are using colored paper cutouts and markers. There are drawings and craft materials on the table.
A young girl with dark hair and big eyes lying on her back on a bed or blanket with a colorful pattern. She is sticking her tongue out and looking directly at the camera. She is wearing a white shirt with pink text.

Seriously! But don’t take our word for it, here are some things people have to say about us.

“As a first-time parent, leaving my baby anywhere felt overwhelming—but Little Makers Academy made the transition so comforting. The infant teachers are incredibly nurturing and attentive. They follow my baby’s routine perfectly and keep me updated throughout the day with photos and notes. I can truly see how much love and care goes into everything they do. My baby is happy, thriving, and reaching new milestones every week. I couldn’t ask for a better place for my little one.”

“My toddler absolutely loves going to Little Makers Academy! The teachers are patient, energetic, and so encouraging during this busy stage of development. I’ve seen huge growth in my child’s language, social skills, and confidence since starting here. They come home talking about art projects, songs, and their friends every day. It’s clear the classroom is structured, engaging, and full of positive energy. We’re beyond happy with our experience.”
